                          Lighthouse at Peggy's Cove

I grew up on Canada's east coast and I used to love to hear the mournful wail of the foghorn as it warned incoming boats of the danger. When I was a teenager, we used to go down to Peggy's Cove and stand at the end of the rocks that jut out into the water behind the lighthouse. We would try to outrun the water as the waves pounded in over the rocks. It was very exciting at the time. Not too long later I realized what a dangerous and foolhardy thing this was as people have been washed off the rocks never to be seen again.

I did a lot of dangerous things when I was a teen. A lot of us did and still do. Now that I'm  older  I wonder why some survive being a teenager while another doing the same thing does not.
