Experiments by psychologists and others on persons in a hypnotic state have shown that the subconscious mind is not capable of examining information in a way necessary to judge whether the information is true or false, good or bad. The hypnotized subject will accept any suggestion and respond accordingly.
For example, a hypnotist, during an experiment, might suggest to a subject that he or she is freezing and that the temperature is dropping rapidly. Upon awakening from this hypnotic state, the subject's personality will change accordingly, totally oblivious of what is going on around him. Your subconscious mind does not reason things out like your conscious mind does. It just reacts on the information that has been impressed on the brain cells.
For example although you make your decisions with your conscious mind, without any conscious choices your heart is kept beating, you keep breathing, your blood circulates, you digest food, etc. Once the impression to do these things is made on the brain cells, and your subconscious mind accepts this information it becomes part of you.
The power of your subconscious mind is enormous. Your subconscious mind never sleeps, it is always on the job. We have all suffered from negative suggestions in our child hood. Some more than others. Think back, were you ever told you cant do that you will get hurt or be careful and don't run so fast you'll fall and hurt yourself. You're too big, you're too small, you're too old, you're too young, etc. Parents, friends, relatives, teachers have all contributed with negative suggestions. The purpose then was probably to control you and your actions. As an adult you have to perform some reconditioning so that the impressions made in the past will not cause failure in your future life.
You must impress your subconscious mind with the right ideas and constructive thoughts. We have become injured by the negative thoughts impressed upon us. So doesn't it stand to reason that if you feed your mind daily with a large helping of life giving, kind, good, and successful thoughts, that you will very soon wipe out all the negative patterns lodged in your subconscious.
Try falling asleep every night for a week or more confirming that you are a good person, that you are worthy and loved, think good about yourself and you will feel good about yourself.. Negative thoughts about yourself can make you depressed, but think good and good things will happen.
